WhatsApp Setup with Serviceform
How to set up WhatsApp with Serviceform
In this article we will go through how to use Serviceform to answer chats from WhatsApp. You can link as many numbers as you want on to your Serviceform account, and the only limitation is your level of trust from Meta / Facebook. Their system allows minimum 3 phone numbers, but for some of our customers there has been no limit.
What you need to do to get started is the following:
- Setup a Facebook Application (3 minutes)
-
This sounds scary, but it’s actually very simple and only takes approximately 3 minutes.
First you need to go to Facebook Developers page, and make sure you are an admin of your Facebook Business Manager:
1.1. Start by clicking on Create App on the top right.
1.2. Choose business
1.3. Add any name for your app, for example your company name and link the the business manager profile you want to set up WhatsApp for.

1.5. Click on Webhooks, and then click Set up
1.6. Choose WhatsApp Business Account, and click on Subscribe to this object.
1.7. Add Callback URL:
and Token which we have provided you separately
1.8. Click subscribe to the messages
1.9. Your Application is now ready, and we need to only add a privacy policy URL.
1.10. Add contact email and privacy policy URL, you can use serviceform.com/privacy if you have no other URL. We strongly recommend linking to your own privacy policy URL.
1.11. Click from top to put your app live.
1.12. Your app Setup is complete
1.13. You can now add all the phone numbers you want.
Click on Dashboard, and scroll down to where you find WhatsApp. Click on Set Up.
1.14. Click start using the API
1.15. Add phone numbers by scrolling down and click on add phone number (NOTE: YOU CAN RETURN TO ADD PHONE NUMBERS LATER)
1.16. Fill with your company details
1.17. Add phone number, and validate by giving it the code you receive.
Repeat steps 17 and 16 for every phone number you want.
Your setup is now complete. But to send messages to your users we require one more thing.
- Create a System user on your Facebook business account (2 minutes)
Navigate to your Facebook Business settings and find the System Users tab.
2.1. Create a system user with the role Admin
2.2. Give full access to assets, mainly whatsapp related
2.3. Click on generate access token and send that to our team.
Now you’re all done!
